Eagle Inbrit Haulage — Full Commercial Exterior Transformation — Park Royal, London
Apex Specialist Spray Coatings LTD was appointed to transform the exterior of Eagle Inbrit Haulage’s commercial premises in Park Royal, London.
The objective was to refresh the tired exterior and create a bold, modern appearance that would better reflect the professional image of the business. The project covered virtually every major external element, including the cladding, curved roof, downpipes, large curtain walling sections, window frames, fascias, guttering, roof trims, entrance areas and four roller shutters.
A carefully selected two-colour scheme was used to completely redefine the appearance of the building. The cladding, curved roof and downpipes were finished in RAL 9005 Jet Black Satin, while the curtain walling, window frames, fascias, guttering, roof trims, entrances and four roller shutters were spray coated in RAL 5011 Steel Blue.
The contrast between the deep black main elevations and the steel-blue architectural features created a sharp, contemporary finish with immediate visual impact.
The project was completed during exceptionally hot conditions, with temperatures in London rising well into the 30°Cs. Careful working practices and attention to the application conditions were therefore essential throughout the transformation.

Coating systemA professional spray-applied Selemix Direct 2K polyurethane coating system was applied across the prepared building components. The main cladding elevations, curved roof and downpipes received two full coats in RAL 9005 Jet Black Satin. The curtain walling, window frames, fascias, guttering, roof trims, entrances and four roller shutters were finished in RAL 5011 Steel Blue. Controlled application provided consistent coverage and a uniform finish across the different exterior surfaces.

Before work began
Original condition
Before work began, the exterior presented a tired and dated appearance that no longer reflected the professional image of the premises.
The existing painted surfaces included areas of failed and loose coating. Although pressure washing removed a significant amount of the unstable material, some remaining failed paint required further removal before the new coating could be applied.
The different external components also lacked a strong, unified colour scheme. The cladding, curved roof, curtain walling, window frames, trims, guttering, downpipes, entrances and roller shutters needed to be brought together as one coordinated commercial exterior.
Preparing these existing surfaces correctly was particularly important. Applying a new coating over loose or poorly adhered paint could compromise the appearance and performance of the completed finish. The existing defects therefore had to be addressed before spray application began.
The Apex standard
Preparation
Preparation was completed systematically to provide a clean, stable surface for the new spray-applied finish.
The exterior was thoroughly pressure washed to remove surface contamination and dislodge loose or failing material. Once the building had dried, the team inspected the prepared areas and removed the remaining failed paint that the pressure washing had not taken away.
This additional preparation ensured the new finish was not being applied over visibly loose or unstable material. Particular attention was given to transitions between retained coatings and the areas where failed paint had been removed.
Before spraying commenced, surrounding surfaces were carefully masked and protected. Detailed masking was especially important around the curtain walling, entrances, glazing and opening windows, where accurate lines and controlled application were required.
The opening windows received particular attention. Rather than coating only the visible faces, the internal and external edges of each opening section were also prepared for spraying. This allowed the finished colour to remain consistent from every visible angle, including when the windows were opened.
Completed finish
The result
The completed coating work completely transformed Eagle Inbrit Haulage’s commercial premises. RAL 9005 Jet Black Satin gives the main cladding elevations, curved roof and downpipes a clean, bold and contemporary appearance. RAL 5011 Steel Blue provides a distinctive contrast across the curtain walling, window frames, fascias, guttering, roof trims, entrances and four roller shutters. The two colours work together to define the building’s architectural features and create a coordinated exterior that looks modern, professional and immediately recognisable. The opening windows were coated across their visible faces and opening edges so the finish remains consistent whether they are open or closed. Despite temperatures rising well into the 30°Cs, preparation, masking, coverage and consistency were maintained throughout the project. The finished premises now have a strong commercial identity and a high-quality spray finish. Apex Specialist Spray Coatings LTD would also like to thank the Eagle Inbrit Haulage team for their exceptional hospitality during the hot working conditions.
