Before work began
Original condition
When we arrived, the exterior coatings on both buildings had deteriorated considerably. Large sections of paint were flaking and failing, with exposed areas beginning to show signs of corrosion.
The surfaces were heavily weathered and required extensive preparation. Simply coating over the existing finish would not have produced a professional or long-lasting result, so all defective material had to be removed and the remaining edges carefully feathered into sound coatings.

Preparation
We chemically cleaned and pressure-washed the exterior surfaces of both buildings to remove dirt, contamination and loose material.
Once dry, we thoroughly sanded both buildings, removed all loose, flaking and failed paint, and carefully feathered the remaining coating edges to create a smooth transition.
Areas affected by corrosion were prepared and treated with HMG Ferrozinc Water Based Rust Converter 8457. This converted and stabilised the remaining rust before the new coating system was applied.
All surrounding surfaces were carefully protected before spraying commenced.
Completed finish
The result
The completed refurbishment has completely transformed Buildings 1 and 2. The badly weathered, flaking exterior has been replaced with a clean, consistent and professional RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey finish.
Careful preparation, corrosion treatment and professional spray application produced a smooth and durable coating across both buildings. What initially looked like an ageing industrial site now looks like a newly finished facility, significantly improving the overall appearance of the Dawn Foods Ltd premises.
