Apex completed project
We completed a full exterior refurbishment at the Humdinger Foods factory in Lincoln, including the complete factory roof, front fascias and soffits, external cladding, downpipes and canteen area. The work had to be completed within a strict timeframe while the factory was closed, requiring long working days and careful planning to ensure every stage was completed before the site reopened.
Before work began
Several sections of the existing painted surfaces had begun to fail, with loose and deteriorating coating requiring attention. These areas needed thorough preparation to create a clean, stable surface before the new coating system could be applied.
The Apex standard
All surfaces were chemically cleaned to remove built-up dirt, grease and surface contamination. The factory roof, cladding, fascias, soffits, downpipes and canteen area were then thoroughly jet washed. Once clean and dry, all loose and failed coating was removed. The remaining edges of the existing paintwork were carefully sanded and feathered to create a smooth transition between the sound coating and exposed areas. This preparation was essential for achieving strong adhesion and a consistent professional finish.
Completed finish
The completed refurbishment transformed the appearance of the Humdinger Foods factory. The roof, cladding, front fascias, soffits, downpipes and canteen area were all restored with a clean, consistent and durable sprayed finish. Despite the demanding schedule, the work was completed within the required shutdown period, allowing the factory to reopen as planned with its exterior fully refreshed and protected.
